Volunteer Orientation

Volunteer Orientation

Check our events calendar for the next scheduled orientation.  Volunteer orientation is conducted at the rescue: 10425 Mount Holly-Huntersville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.  (Volunteers must be at least 18; if a volunteer is under 18 they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times while at the rescue.)

Please confirm your attendance at least 3 days before orientation, via email to rescuegreatdane@outlook.com.

Orientation starts promptly at 11 am and takes about an hour, please be on time.  Complete the volunteer profile and email or FAX it to 704-498-4944 at least 3 days prior to orientation (minors do not need to complete the forms, but the parent or legal guardian should include them on their forms), you will need to show proof of age, so bring a drivers license or other picture ID.  When you arrive at the rescue, if no one is outside to greet you, please go into the center garden with the large birdhouse and wait, we will be out shortly to check everyone in.

Wear something comfortable, that you don’t mind getting dirty and sneakers (no open toed shoes).  You should always bring your own leash as we never seem to have enough.  It’s also a good idea to bring a change of shoes and clothes; especially if you have pets at home.

Don’t shop, adopt.
